Do the Lula: A Camera Bag Review

1:22:00 PM

A month ago I bought myself an early Christmas present. I have been using the same flimsy, ugly bag my camera came with for 3 years now. It didn't hold all my gear and my big problem was that it looked like a camera bag. Most of the "purse" camera bags I'd seen were either way to expensive or looked too "mom". I found The Lula on THEIT, but it was long gone, sold out. After some searching I eventually found it on Camera Style, a lovely site run by Natasha Wedding. She so helpfully told me that she had one bag left in stock. I bought it and I had the bag in my hands in 2 weeks.

I took this bag for a spin when I did a shoot with my friend Zach, and most recently my friend Sam. We had a coffee/photo shoot date at Blackdog. The bag is waterproof and feels very durable. The quilting on the top flap is Chanel-esque (love) and the color acts as a nice accent to my usually neutral wardrobe.

There are pockets on the front, sides, and the back to keep memory cards, extra batteries, a notebook you name it. The inside is quite spacious as well and comes with felt, cushioned dividers you can move around as you please. I have comfortably fit 3 lenses, my camera body and a speed-light into the main compartment of this bag. It's heavy, but it fits!

While the bag retailed for $219 (USD) on THEIT, I snagged it for $97 (USD) on Camera Style. I'm excited to use this bag on bigger shoots and see how it handles things.
